OTCC Social Justice Outreach Ministry
Social Justice is at the heart of Open Table. Prior to the pandemic we  provided support for several ministries. Some partner organizations are listed here.

When we resume meeting in person, we look forward to renewing our focus to healing the world.

​Baby Bottle Campaign
    Raising money to help support Murfreesboro families as they welcome an addition to their family.

​   Open Table is one of the original supporters of Boro Pride. We have participated since the first year and look forward to many more festivals to come!

charity: water Website
    charity:water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Open Table raises money through donations and ice cream socials to contribute to this important cause.

Church of the Second Chance, a ministry for inmates

Coldest Night's Women's Shelter Website
    Murfreesboro Cold Patrol partners with other non-profits and community organizations to strategically end the revolving door of homelessness. For several years Open Table has provided meals, volunteers, and items to show our love for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.. 

Disciples of Christ Reconciliation Ministry Website
    The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is called to practice faithfulness with regard to the elimination of racism, which exists in all manifestations of the church, to discern the presence and nature of racism as sin, to develop strategies to eradicate it, and to work toward racial reconciliation.

Domestic Violence Program Website (Facebook link)
​   A non-profit organization specializing in free healing and protective services for all victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Open Table has raised money and collected items to help.  

Green Chalice Certification Website
    Care for God's creation: the Christian Church (DOC) committed to reducing our carbon pollution with the goal to become carbon neutral by the year 2030 and climate positive by 2035.

Kiva Microloans Website
    Kiva is an international nonprofit that crowdfunds loans to unlock capital for the underserved, thus improving the quality and cost of financial services, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world.     

Luci Lights (through Disciples Global Ministries) 
​   An inflatable solar lantern that lasts up to 24 hours per charge. Open Table organized donations to purchase these low cost, sustainable lights for people around the world. 

MT Lambda (at MTSU) Website
​   A safe, secure, and accepting environment for everyone in the LGBT+ community at MTSU, including allies.Open Table has shown support for SpringOut by contributing to fun activities for the students, attending the annual conference, and reaching out to students on campus.

Nashville Pride Festival Website
    The largest LGBTQ+ event in Tennessee​

Operation Bless a Child through New Vision Prison Ministry, a Christmas gift exchange for children and family members of inmates at the Rutherford County Correctional Facility. The community of Open Table participated in the selection of gifts, wrapping, and the Christmas celebration with inmates and their children.

Rutherford County Interfaith Council Website (Facebook link)
    An advisory board dedicated to forming a safe, loving, and respectful atmosphere, fostering understanding, and embodying solidarity, unity, and justice among people of different faiths. Open Table has a member on the board of this organization and supports the efforts to educate and engage the residents of our county.

Way of Hope through Volunteer Rutherford Website
    An emergency overflow shelter program​ for women and children

Veterans Administration in Murfreesboro 
    Open Table provided self-care items for the residents of our local veterans home in our first years as a congregation.
